Thomas closing in on decision

Lance Thomas narrowed his list of scholarship offers down to four a couple months ago. Florida, Louisville, Miami and USC were the schools that made the cut for the four-star forward out of Norcross High School in Georgia.

He’s already taken his official visits to Florida and Miami with visits to the other two programs coming up.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

Thomas talked about what stood out so far on his visits and where things stand with Louisville and USC.

Florida: “The Florida visit went well. I feel like everybody there is really close and it’s like a family environment. They told me about the history of the program. They were telling me they don’t really have anybody on their roster like me.”

Miami: “The players are really close and so is the coaching staff. Me and Coach Larranaga and the coaching staff got really close on the visit. Prior to that, I probably had the closest relationship with them as well, so the visit just reassured me on everything.”

Louisville: “They have told me about Coach Pitino and his history and his chances of making me a pro and as good as I can be. Darius Perry hits me up all the time about going there with him.”

USC: “Jordan Usher hits me up all the time about going there. He just texts me ‘Fight On!’ all the time. I really appreciate Coach Enfield’s ability to make programs better and make players better. He’s made USC better in the short time he’s been there. Their style of play fits me well.”

  WHAT’S NEXT?

Thomas visits Louisville next weekend and then heads out to USC the following Wednesday. Once those visits are done, he’ll come home and start working towards making a decision. He’ll announce his college choice on November 1.

RIVALS' REACTION

Miami definitely grabbed his attention on his visit to Coral Gables. His relationship with the Hurricanes' coaching staff has given them a real shot to sign him in November. Prior to his visits, Louisville and USC were the schools most called the frontrunners. This one could come down to the last hour for Thomas.
