Third Cinco Ranch Player Headed To CSU

Sean Morris, a 5-10, 155 pound shooting guard from Cinco Ranch High School in Katy, TX, has verbally committed to Colorado State University, his AAU coach Charlie Jones II told us today from this weekend's Kingwood Classic in Houston, Texas.
"He wasn't able to play for us this morning," Jones said regarding Houston Westside All-Stars one point loss to the Gym Rats Sunday morning. "He injured his groin in last night's win and we had to sit him down."

Colorado State has a strong line to Texas players with six, including three freshmen Stuart Creason, Phillip Thomasson and Stephen Verwers, on the upcoming year's roster.
The line is even stronger with the Cinco Ranch program. Sean's brother, Micheal, a 6-4 swingman, completed his freshman season with the 19-14 Rams during which he averaged 5.9 points, 3.7 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.5 blocks with a 1.04 assist/turnover ratio for the suprise champions of the Mountain West Conference.
And in February, Mr. Jones told RivalsHoops.com reporter Russ Blake that his son, 6-0 point guard Charlie Jones III, had committed to Colorado State for the 2004-05 season.
"Charlie going to Colorado State was probably the biggest factor in Sean's decision," Jones said. "Micheal being there is important too but getting to play with your high school and AAU backcourt mate for four years is great. It was just a perfect fit," he added.
Morris had an offer from Rice and was being strongly pursued by Texas A&M. "He was also interested in Texas but I'm not sure how mutual that was," Jones noted.
"He's a true shooting guard. At 5-10, a lot of schools were backing off or wanted him to be a point or combo guard," Jones stated. "Colorado State saw him as he is, a shooter."
"I think Sean is one of the very best shooters and athletes in the country," Jones said. "He has unlimited range on his jump shot and a 37 inch vertical."
Morris averaged about 17 points, 19 in district play, four rebounds, three assists and two steals this past season. Cinco Ranch has won back to back district titles and compiled a 29-5 record this year.
Oh, there's strong blood lines here also. Sean and Micheal's father, Chris, was an All-American at Auburn University and played more than 11 seasons in the NBA.
