CEDAR HILL, Tex. -- During the spring, rising senior wing Kaden Archie put himself on the map with his tough all-around play. Now a four-star prospect and a bonafide high major target, he impressed at The Main Floor event and updated his recruitment.

On Thursday, Texas head coach Shaka Smart watched as did TCU's Jamie Dixon and Texas Tech's Chris Beard. Along with those head coaches, assistants from Oklahoma State, SMU, Baylor, Kansas State, Virginia Tech and many others were watching.

"Coaches definitely like my defense and intensity," Archie told Rivals.com. "What stands out about me to them is that I want to and can play on both sides of the ball."

With so many options, Archie has yet to set any official visits. However, he did mention that Florida, LSU and Texas stand out as programs that will likely receive official visits.

"I wouldn't say that they are the leaders," said Archie. "But I do feel like I've been developing the best relationships with them.."

During June, Archie made his way down to Austin for an unofficial visit and liked what he saw.

"I hear from Coach (Shaka) Smart or one of their coaches pretty much every day," said Archie. "When I went down there it surprised me a little. From the facilities, the strength and conditioning program and the way the players were working hard to get better. I really liked the atmosphere."

Archie's mom is originally from Louisiana and new LSU coach Will Wade is trying to capitalize on the excitement he's building as a new coach and Archie's family ties to the state.

"Coach (Will) Wade and assistant coach (Tony) Benford talk to me all the time and are always sending me video about what they can do for player development," said Archie. "They are really trying to make a name for themselves. Everybody thinks about LSU as a football school, but they are trying to make it known as basketball school as well."

The Gators have made a strong impression with their energy.

"Mike White, his energy really stands out to me, him and assistant coach Dusty May," said Archie. "Those two, whenever I talk to them they sound really excited about me and I'm excited to go out there and see what they are all about."

With additional interest coming in from programs like Michigan, Michigan State, Virginia, Kansas, Arkansas and Missouri, Archie says that he'll feel things out and then look to make his cut and finalize visits after the summer.

"I want to see what else is going on with some of these other schools and their interest and then I'll lock things in.
