Upshaw is down to Fresno State , Georgetown , Kansas State and Louisville and the hope is that he will have a decision by Monday.
"We are hoping that by Monday he will be 100 percent sure where he wants to go," said Sherman . "All the schools have great coaches and good programs, so it is hard to choose. We want to make sure the school he picks is the right fit for him all the way around."
A 7-foot center from Fresno ( Calif. ) San Joaquin Memorial, Upshaw will definitely wait till the spring if he feels that staying home might be his best option.
"If he doesn't sign, it's because his is seriously considering Fresno State ," said Sherman . "We just want to see how the season goes for them first."
Although Upshaw has been a national recruit for years because of his height, he has just recently hit his stride as a prospect. He looked better and better each outing this summer and is a prospect on the rise.
He isn't an explosive athlete, but Upshaw has NBA caliber size, a promising skill set and improving mobility. The potential is there for him to develop into a Roy Hibbert type center.
