The Irish Are At It Again

Can someone please tell Mike Brey and his staff to rest? The Irish head coach and his assistants recently won a recruiting battle for 6-8 forward Omari Peterkin. In the Fall, the staff stunned the recruiting world by land McDonald's All American Torin Francis.
Now Brey and his staff have their Irish up again. Shane Power, a 6-5, 210-pound forward who is transferring from Iowa State, took an unofficial visit to the Notre Dame campus today. Power had a terrific sophomore season in the Big 12 and is one of the better transfers available right now.

So the Irish now appear to be a major player in this recruiting war. Power will visit Mississippi State tomorrow. He will then visit Pittsburgh on Monday and Virginia on Thursday.
Power, a native of Crown Point, Ind., announced the was transferring two to three weeks ago. Power is also considering Wisconsin.
Power started all 31 games last season, averaging 13.6 ppg and 4.5 rpg. Power was a honorable mention all-Big 12 pick. Power previously mentioned South Carolina but they appear to be off the radar screen right now.
Power, who led Iowa State in steals with 37, was also second on the team in assists with 73. He has also visited New Mexico and praised his visit to the school when we last interviewed him.
