Texas PG Has D-1 Interest

Trey McDowell, a slashing 6-2, 171 pound point guard from Westbrook H.S. in Beaumont, Tex., has a number of Division I programs evaluating him this summer.
McDowell, who played with the Southeast Texas All-Stars at this past weekend's Great American Shootout, displayed good athleticism, solid ball handling and deft passing skills this past weekend. While his perimeter shot wasn't falling consistently in the game we watched, the southpaw floor general plays the passing lanes well and comes up with several steals on the defensive side of the ball.

McDowell told the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com that he has spoken with programs such as Mississippi State, Tulsa, Stepen F. Austin, Evansville and SW Texas prior to the July evaluation period.
McDowell averaged 17 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, five steals and two blocks per game this past season at Westbrook H.S. In the classroom, he said he carries a 2.3 GPA and has tallied an 860 on the SAT.
Following the Great American Shootout, McDowell and his SE Texas squad will conclude the summer at the adidas Big Time Tournament in Las Vegas.
We will keep you posted on his play from that event, so stay tuned!
