Texas guard generating interest

After previously playing at Pearland (Texas) High, senior Shai Fields is on the move for his senior season. The 6-foot-3 combo guard will play his final season of high school ball at mighty Houston (Texas) Yates. Combine that with a terrific summer playing for Team Texas and you've got a guy who is generating plenty of interest.
Fields father, Charles, checked in with the latest on his son's recruitment and what it is college coaches like about Shai.

"His character and he's like a silent assassin," said Fields of what has attracted schools to his son. "He can put the ball in the basket."
A streaky shooter with good athleticism, Fields can bomb from deep or score amongst the trees off the dribble. Because of that, he's had schools from all across the country showing interest.
Included in the mix are Weber State, Texas State, Houston, Stephen F. Austin, Missouri State, Detroit, UNC Wilmington, San Diego and others. A September visit has been set for Weber State and more will be set up soon.
When it comes to making a decision, Fields says that his son -- who hopes to major in communications or possibly even drama -- should decide before the end of the season. When he does, it will be based on a number of factors.
"Academics, coaching Staff ,college atmosphere ,college program, communication program and drama department," the elder Fields told Rivals.com about which factors will weigh most heavily in his son's choice.
