According to Ulric Maligi of the Dallas Mustangs, Permenter has an offer from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Colorado State, Rice, Arkansas-Little Rock, Texas-Arlington and Texas-San Antonio have all been to his high school to evaluate him as well. He is also getting interest from Stanford, Pacific, Bucknell, VCU, Tulsa and Utah among others.
"Russ is a very strong and aggressive low post player," said Maligi. "He finishes well around the basket, and he's starting to try to dunk everything now. He's a great shot blocker also and possibly the best low post defender in the state in his class.
"He has to improve his overall game, but he is constantly showing flashes. He is starting to feel comfortable turning and facing the basket and then making quick moves to the rim."
Permenter carries a 3.2 GPA.
