Texas adds late recruit

Just when it looked like recruiting for 2011 was about over, Rick Barnes and the Texas Longhorns snuck one in late.
Tuesday afternoon, while on an official visit to Texas, power forward Jaylen Bond committed to the Longhorns.

Originally committed to Pitt, Bond had backed out on the Panthers and planned to reclassify to the class of 2012 and attend Oakdale (Conn.) St. Thomas More.
Instead, Texas entered the picture late and was able to win over the 6-foot-7 graduated senior during his visit to Austin.
A high level athlete who attacks the rim and rebounds his area, Bond is the seventh member of the Longhorns class of 2011. He joins Sheldon McClellan, Julien Lewis, Sterling Gibbs, Jonathan Holmes, Myck Kabongo and Kevin Thomas to form the Longhorns recruiting class.
