Sunday afternoon, they picked some up when a local guard, away for prep school, decided to become a Terp.
Sam Cassell, Jr. a 6-foot-2 combo guard at Fitchburg (Mass.) Notre Dame prep made the call on Sunday.
In Cassell, the Terps are getting a kid who understands the art of scoring the basketball. He serve as a primary scorer while running the point, or he can play off the ball.
Cassell also has good range on his jumper and is extremely crafy in the mid range.
A three-star prospect, Cassell only adds to Maryland's top 15 recruiting class.
Four-star Shaquille Cleare, four-star Charles Mitchell, three-star Jake Layman, Damonte Dodd and three-star shooting guard Seth Allen round out Maryland's six man recruiting class.
