Tennessee lands impact recruit

Every coach at a new program needs a signature recruit to get their recruiting rolling. Tennessee head coach Cuonzo Martin got his on Thursday night.
Ending months of speculation, five-star prospect Jarnell Stokes committed to the Volunteers during a press conference at a Memphis restaurant.

Currently a member of the class of 2012, the 6-foot-8 power forward is graduating early from Memphis (Tenn.) Southwind and will enroll early for the second semester in Knoxville.
A power player who can hit the glass and has touch on the offensive end, Stokes has the tools to be an impact player at the highest level.
While he will make an impact, it's also important to note that Stokes will be arriving after his teammates have practiced for nearly three months and played several games. So, it's quite likely that there could be a short adjustment period.
