Teel still wide open
Reports surfaced recently of a Vernon Teel commitment to Rhode Island. Teel, however, has informed Rivals.com that those reports are erroneous. The 6-foot-3, 170-pound shooting guard out of Flushing, N.Y., and attending Laurinburg Prep this year, has a number of offers on the table and is still wide open.
"I'm considering offers from USC, Clemson, Virginia, Providence, Seton Hall, Rhode Island and West Virginia," said Teel. "I just want everyone to know that I'm still wide open, and I don't even have a favorite right now."

USC and Rhode Island have both been to Laurinburg to watch Teel play this fall, but he plans to wait till the spring and get a gauge on school's recruiting interest during the high school season.
"I'll sign late and be looking to see who shows the most interest in me during the season," he said.
According to Teel he is at Laurinburg in order to raise his 2.5 GPA to the level need to qualify with his 850 SAT.
