Ted Morris Slices List

Ted Morris, a developing 6-9, 215 pound power forward/center from Chaminade H.S. in St. Louis, Mo., has pared his list down to three schools this summer.
Morris told the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com that he is considering Indiana State, Rice University and St. Mary's. However, he has a clear leader at this stage.

"No one has recruited me harder than Indiana State," Morris said. "Down at the AAU Nationals, they sent me letters every day to my hotel room. They were at every single one of my games. They've been watching me for a while now and they said I am their number one guy at that position."
"Coach Waldman has called my house consistently, it's a good distance from home, three hours, so I can make that drive in a day and my parents can see me play, and it's a good conference for me," Morris continued. "I've been up there unofficially and I really like a couple of their players. It fits a lot of the criteria that I am looking for."
Morris will visit the Sycamores from Sept. 7-9. If all goes well, he said he expects to commit to the Missouri Valley Conference program.
"If the visit goes well, I will commit," Morris admitted. "But if something does not go right or I do not get a good feel, then I am going to come home and have some other coaches in my home so that my parents can speak to them."
Essentially, the visit to ISU is the linchpin of Morris' recruitment. If the Sycamores can't lock him down on his trip, then the door opens quite a bit for Rice or St. Mary's. Morris said he has discussed visiting Rice either the weekend of Sept. 15 or 22nd, but he won't commit to any other trips until his visit to ISU is complete.
Morris averaged 10 points, seven rebounds and three blocks per game as a junior at Chaminade, where he played alongside McDonald's All American selection and current Florida freshman David Lee.
An excellent student, Morris carries a 3.6 GPA and scored an 1150 on the SAT.
Morris competed this past spring and summer with Rich Gray's St. Louis Eagles program. In July, he attended the AAU Super Showcase and AAU Nationals with the Eagles in Florida, and IR had a chance to view him at a pair of spring tournaments -- the St. Louis Eagles Invitational and the Nike Memorial Day Classic.
While he has a thin upper body, Morris demonstrated good mobility and was an active presence on the offensive glass when we watched him play. They key for him is to play consistently aggressive, as he is sometimes prone to fade in and out of games. Regardless, his best basketball is likely ahead of him.
