Class-of-2023 guard Aaron Clark continues to see his offer expand, as TCU joined the fray on Sunday evening, bringing Clark's offer total to eight. The fact that the St. Benedict’s star is just a sophomore suggests that this is just the start, however.
Clark, who plays his grassroots ball for New Jersey Scholar Athletes, also holds offers from St Johns, UMass, Seton Hall and others. Programs such as Creighton, Kansas State, Iowa and Stanford have also reached out to inquire. But while it’s clear that his recruitment could be on the verge of truly blowing up once he’s permitted to take the court competitively post-pandemic, the 6-foot-6 underclassmen says he’s trying to stay focused on now.
When his school gets the go ahead to start a season, Clark plans to be as prepared as ever.
“I’ve been in the gym every day working on improving the areas I am weak in my game,” Clark said. “I’m also doing strength and conditioning to keep my body right and trying to put some muscle on.
“My expectations this season are to just become a better player overall, get my teammates involved and just win.”
Still, the lack of an on-time season obviously hasn’t stopped Clark from getting offers or placing himself on the radars of major programs. Expect his options to grow in the months ahead leading into a grassroots circuit that could turn the young guard into a truly national-level recruiting depending on how things shake out. He’s certainly a name to know and keep an eye on going forward.
“I describe my game as a smooth versatile guard that can score at all three levels and have the ability to create for my teammates,” Clark said.
RIVALS REACTION: It’s much too early to tell where Clark may be leaning, as he’s just a sophomore and nowhere near done collecting offers. The first half of 2021 will be a critical period for the 6-foot-6 guard, on whom people from the Northeast are already quite excited about.
