Taybrons A Great Get For Temple

Mario Taybron, a resourceful 6-2, 185 pound combo guard from the Blue Ridge School in St. George, Va., committed to Temple over the weekend, according to Mario's family. "Yes, he is very happy," Mario's mom told us today. "He is excited about playing at Temple next year."
Taybron was one of the key members of the Boo Williams Summer League team over the past month. He has outstanding lead guard skills and had a solid summer. He especially impressed RivalsHoops.com at the Peach Jam in mid-July.

At the Peach Jam, in the quarterfinal matchup, Taybron scored 19 points and dished out several assists (the official stat sheet had him for one, but he had more) in Boo Williams' 66-59 victory over Riverside Church.
Tabron showed he is much more than a three-point shooter this summer. He worked the ball around the perimeter nicely and showed good distribution skills in July. He finds his open teammates.
Taybron had been offered scholarships previously by Temple, N.C. State, UConn, St. John's, Virginia Tech, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Virginia Commonwealth, James Madison and Old Dominion. But many of these schools dropped their offers when the schools got other players at Mario's position.
Taybron averaged 28 points, six rebounds, eight assists and three steals per game last season at Ryan Academy. He said he has a 3.2 GPA and scored over an 820 on the SAT exam.
