Tar Heels Staying Around With J.R. Reynolds

Super combo guard J.R. Reynolds, 6-3, is expected to play in some major events this summer, including the NIKE camp and also the national AAU tournament in Orlando, Florida. According to his high school coach, Dick Wall, J.R. could have a decision this summer. Reynolds is a rising junior.
"Virginia has been very hard on him," Wall told us. "But Carolina is also around right now."

By Carolina, Wall means North Carolina. "Virginia is the leader right now," Wall said. "That is really the honest way of looking at it. But right now there is no decision but one probably this summer."
Reynolds will play for the Roanoke Jaguars this summer. Some of our sources had told us that Reynolds could make a commitment any day now. "Well he has been thinking about it," Wall said. "But not completely ready to make one."
If Reynolds were to make a commitment now, it would be Virginia but it appears that the Tar Heels are a factor in this race too. If Virginia were to land Reynolds early, this would be an awesome early get for coach Pete Gillen and his hard working assistants.
But don't count out Carolina just yet, at least according to Wall.
Reynolds has not played much AAU ball over the past six months but he will pick up the pace in July...we will continue to keep an eye out on this situation ...
