Talented SG Makes Decision

Richard McBride, a 6-3, 190 pound shooting guard from Lanphier H.S. in Springfield, Ill., committed to Illinois.
Remember McBride has had a solid spring. RivalsHoops.com watched McBride play at the recent TOC in North Carolina.

Then Russ Blake watched McBride help the Ft. Sooy No Limit program claim the title of this past weekend's 9th Annual Spiece Run N Slam Tournament.
Despite an injured right arm, McBride was sensational in the semis, scoring 29 points on seven three pointers in Ft. Sooy's 66-50 victory over Cincinnati AAU Red squad.
He was a bit more human in the championship tilt, registering 12 points in Ft. Sooy's 78-71 conquest over All-Ohio Red. Even though he had just three points at the half in that contest, McBride enjoyed a strong fourth quarter performance that enabled his team to walk away with the title.
It was the first tournament title this spring for Ft. Sooy, which finished in second at the Kingwood Classic in Texas and among the final four at a tournament in Louisville, Ky.
Illinois had been regarded as the team to beat for McBride's services next fall.
