Teams from the New York area - including the Metro Hawks, New York Panthers, Gauchos, Juice All-Stars and Bingo's All Stars - will be represented along with a solid cast of team from across the country.
Widely regarded as one of the top events this month and especially one of the must-see events in the Northeast, the Rumble in the Bronx, once again, has a strong group of rising seniors that will be playing this weekend.
Corey Stokes, Anthony McClain, Teeng Akol, Corey Fisher and a host of other top-rated players in the 2007 class are expected to be in attendance along with 2008 standouts Tyreke Evans and Samardo Samuels. A good amount of the top teams and players in the New York Metro area will be at Fordham this weekend, including the Albany City Rocks.
Plus, the Miami Tropics are slated to bring their Elite and Gold teams and New England and Texas will also be well-represented. H-Squad, Howard Pulley, National Christian, South Florida Heat and Team Melo are some of the other teams participating this weekend.
Louisiana Select is also in this year's field and the 16-under and 15-under divisions should also feature a number of interesting matchups. Last year, Lazar Hayward (Marquette) was named the 17-under MVP as he led his GC Ballers, which will be back this spring, to the championship.
Jimmer Fredette and Mike Goodman from the City Rocks took home co-MVP honors as they helped their team to the 16-under crown. The New York Panthers earned the 15-under title a year ago. Stay with Rivals.com all weekend for the latest coverage. The Rumble in the Bronx runs from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon.
