Taggart Down to Two

Shawn Taggart, the No. 48 ranked player in the Rivals150, could not make it to Virginia Tech this past weekend, and the 6-foot-8, 215-pound combo forward from Richmond, Va., and prepping at Mt. Zion (N.C.) might not ever make it to Blacksburg, Va., for an official visit. He is down to two other schools.
“Technical difficulties kept me from going,” said Taggart about his scheduled visit for Virginia Tech. “There was something wrong with the plane. I probably will go visit on another date. I don’t know, though. I want to, but I might not be able to make another visit.”

Taggart did dispel any speculation that Memphis had cooled on him since picking up the commitment of Ricky Sanchez.
“They are still recruiting me,” said Taggart on Monday night. “Coach Cal is coming up her tomorrow to visit me. Right now I am down to them and Iowa State.”
Do not be surprised if Taggart makes a decision in the near future.
“I don’t know when I’ll decide,” he said. “I might fall asleep, and it might pop into my head. When I feel it, I will go with it.”
St John’s and Florida State have been on Taggart’s list, but he has previously cast doubt on ever taking his scheduled visits to those schools.
