Taft Makes Decision

We don't have a fly on the wall but the word in Brooklyn is that Chris Taft, the talented 6-9 center/power forward from Xaverian High School in New York, committed to Pittsburgh today, according to sources close to Taft.
This is no surprise. Taft had no visits scheduled and had indicated he loved the coaches at Pittsburgh. Chris told us he had a great time on his trip to the Panther campus and was very impressed with the new arena.

Villanova was probably the last school standing in this race to grab Taft. He also considered North Carolina but the Tar Heels never offered. Maryland had expressed interest too as had Connecticut.
Taft is going to be a tremendous college player. He has plenty of upside and has improved his game over the past year. He plays in a highly respected program like Xaverian so it's likely we will continue to see improvement in Taft's overall game in the next year.
