Tabb makes his pick

Once committed to Southern Illinois, Josh Tabb wanted to take a prep year to explore more of his options. On Monday night, he spoke to a SEC head coach and told him that his options were closed because he was ready to commit.
Tabb spoke to Bruce Pearl on Monday and told the new Vols head coach that he was ready to come down to Knoxville next season.

"It came down to them really recruiting me the hardest," Tabb said. "I had them, DePaul, Iowa and Arizona State but I really feel like Tennessee was the place that wanted to recruit me the hardest."
Tabb took a trip to Tennessee recently and said the visit played a large part in his decision.
"I really liked my visit down there," Tabb said. "They are all really great people. Bruce Pearl is a great coach and he's going to get some things going down there. It's just good southern hospitality. They wanted me to be apart of what they are doing."
What they are doing is building the school back into a SEC contender. Tabb joins five-star prospect Duke Crews, four-star forward Wayne Chism and three-star guard Marques Johnson. All four commitments spoke highly of Pearl and his vision for the program.
"He's got a lot of energy and he's going to look out for his players," Tabb said. "He told me that he wants me to be successful in life and graduate from a good school. I'm ready to get the ball rolling."
Tabb said he will sign early.
"I've actually got the papers in my hand. I'm going to go home and look over it tonight and then go from there," Tabb said.
