Sylla Finishes Career At Our Savior

Oumar Sylla, a 6-6 swingman, was one of the more important players in the start of the Our Savior New American basketball program. Sylla, a solid defender who can also drop in a jumper, scored 10 points in his final game for Our Savior New American this past weekend against Redemption Christian Academy.
Though a very intense player, Sylla says very little on the court and sometimes even less off the court. Sylla was a steady player for Our Savior from both the offensive and defensive end. Usually Sylla was matched up with the opposing team's best scorer. He is also a terrific rebounder who has the ability to slash in and out of the lane for jumpers.

Last year Sylla was a much more consistent player from medium range. But this season he improved his three-point shot. His awkward shot sometimes confused his defenders. It looks easy to block but rarely did Sylla have his perimeter shot stopped.
Sylla is also a very good passer. He plays hard all the time and at both ends of the court. The coaching staff of Valpo has to be very happy to have Sylla aboard. He is likely to be an impact player for all four years since he does so many things well on the court.
