Swede Joins Yellow Jackets In Dec.

Jim Nyström, a 6-5 swingman from Stockholm, Sweden, will be a late addition to Georgia Tech's 2002-03 roster.
Nyström, who played two years for the Solna Vikings of the Swedish League, is required to miss Tech's first eight regular-season games because of an NCAA rule. He also played with the Swedish Under-20 National Team in 2001.

Nyström will be eligible on Dec. 29th when the Yellow Jackets visit Maryland for their Atlantic Coast Conference opener. He is allowed to play in Tech's two exhibition games.
Nyström averaged 11.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 24 games for Solna Solna during the 2001-02 season. He shot 33.7 percent from three-point range and 44.1 percent overall from the floor. In 2000-01, he averaged 5.2 points and 1.8 rebounds.
The Swede is enrolled in management at the ACC school which also added a walk-on, Mario West, a 6-3, 205 pound shooting guard from Douglas County High School in Douglasville, GA, to this season's roster.
