Swannys Roundball Review Has COPABA/U.S. List

JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com caught up with Brett Swanson of Swanny's Roundball Review in Illinois on Tuesday, and he informed us of the players who made the final cut for the 2001 Confederation of Pan American Basketball Associations (COPABA) Tournament of the Americas in Argentina.
Initially, 19 junior college players were nominated to represent the United States, but that list was whittled down to just 10 after tryouts this past week at Vincennes J.C. in Indiana.

Here are the players who made the 10-man squad (with a special thanks to "Swanny"). The team will be coached by Vincennes Head Coach Dan Sparks. (Kendall Dartez, who made the squad, is pictured right).
*Blandon Ferguson, 6-3, WF/WG, College of Southern Idaho (Illinois)
*Antonio Rambo, 5-8, PG/WG, SW Illinois C.C.
*Marcus Banks, 6-1, PG, Dixie State College (UNLV)
*Jerry Hollman, 6-11, C, Minneapolis Community and Technical College (Minnesota)
*Seth Scott, 6-9, PF, Utah Valley State College
*Kenny Brown, 6-9, C/PF, Iowa Western C.C. (St. Louis)

*Reggie Griffin, 6-6, PF/WF, Cedar Valley College (UL-Monroe)
*Delonte Holland, 6-7, WF, Vincennes J.C. (DePaul)
Rambo, Scott, Edwards, Dartez and Holland are rising junior college sophomores. Of that lot, only Holland has committed to a college, picking DePaul earlier this summer.
Ferguson, Banks, Hollman, Brown and Griffin have completed their junior college eligibility and will be entering four-year schools this fall. Their destinations are noted in parentheses.
As for the Tournament of Americas, it will feature top programs from Central, South and North America, and will run from Aug. 15-26.
We will try to give you some updates on how this team does on its trip to Argentina, so stay tuned to this site for more details in the near future.
