Sutton Staying In-State

The sports world in Florida got back on track on Friday night when Florida State and Miami hit the gridiron. But the coaching staffs of all of the basketball programs were working during the destructive weather. One staff made a big enough impression on Jimmie Sutton a 6-foot-10, 245-pound power forward/center from North Broward Prep (Fla.) High School, that he decided to verbally commit during his time at the school.
The Boca Raton native has decided to stay in state and play for the Florida Gators. Sutton, the No. 140 ranked player in the country by Rivals.com, was on an unofficial visit in Gainesville this weekend and he decided to give his commitment to Billy Donovan.

“He committed to Florida today when he was on campus,” Matt Ramker, Sutton’s Tallahassee Wildcats AAU coach told Rivals.com
Sutton, a three-star rated prospect, joins guards Derwin Kitchen (four-star) and David Huertas (three-star) for the Gators’ recruiting class in 2005. All of the recruits come from the Sunshine State.
Sutton gives the frontline a big body that knows how to use his size under the basket. He’s still somewhat raw offensively but he has the physical tools to compete in the SEC.
We will have more from Sutton later.
