Sutton makes decision on final day

Maurice Sutton received his answer about where to attend college. The center from Largo (Md.) High School is now hoping to have a heavenly career in the Big East.
Sutton, a 6-foot-11 senior, announced his decision to attend Villanova on Wednesday at a press conference at his school. He told Rivals.com on Monday that he was awaiting an answer from God and he said he found what he was seeking.

"I'm going to be a Villanova Wildcat next year," Sutton said. "It was a great opportunity. I came there, they really grew on me. Coach Jay Wright really impressed me, he really made an amazing impression on me. I love him as a coach and I felt like it was a great family atmosphere for me. I felt like that is what God wanted me to do."
Sutton, who also considered Indiana, is the first player to commit to Villanova in the class of 2008. He said he likes the potential at the Big East school for himself and the team.
"My game translates greatly to what they do," Sutton said. "We averaged 80 to 90 points a game and played above the rim just like they play. Nova has done a good job with that and I think I can come in and make a smooth transition.
"It always helps when you can play for a coach that you like and respect and I do with the coaches at Villanova. With work and trust, I think they can make me a potential pro and to be a great man on top of that."
