Stovall a Heady Floor General

Peyton Stovall, a heady 6-1, 180 pound point/combo guard from Lafayette Jefferson H.S. in Lafayette, Ind., enjoyed a terrific week of play at the adidas Big Time Tournament in Las Vegas.
Stovall, who played with Billy Shepherd Sports at the Big Time, is a quick floor general with a deliberate way to his game. His style was well suited to the Shepherd program, because they are a team who is dependent on ball movement and precision passing. But make no mistake about it: Stovall has the ability to blow past defenders when needed.

On top of being a heady play maker, Stovall has a nice stroke from beyond the arc, and showed that he can pull up on a dime and knock down the midrange jumper with consistency.
Prior to the Big Time Tournament, Stovall told Rivalshoops.com that he had been offered by Ball State, Evansville and Wright State. He also had some interest from colleges such as Kent State, Miami (OH), Drake, Illinois State, Indiana State, Southern Illinois, Wichita State, UNC-Wilmington and Boston College.
Next month, Stovall said he plans to unofficially visit both Ball State and Wright State.
This past season, Stovall averaged 20.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. He said he has a 3.1 GPA and will take the SAT for the first time this fall.
Before attending the Big Time, Stovall and his Billy Shepherd Sports squad attended the Hoosier Shootout in Bloomington, Ind.
We will keep you posted on what schools jump in on Stovall in the weeks to come, so stay tuned.
