Stock Rising For Wing

Gary Forbes, a 6-5, 190-pound wing from Benjamin Banneker Academy in Brooklyn, New York, is a member of the class of 2003 whose stock should rise considerably over the summer.
Forbes sports a pillowly long-range jumper, as well as a quick release. He is a threat from behind the arc. He can also score off the dribble and in transition. Gary also possesses the size and athleticism to crash the boards, a legitimate 6-5 wing with good leaping ability.

The question beckons as to whether Forbes can defend the two spot, and so far, so good. Forbes actually guarded a point guard in Our Savior New American senior Jamar Wilson at IS8 this weekend, and did a competent job. He has decent foot speed and a long reach.
Forbes has not hosted any coaches for workouts this spring, but is receiving sustained interest from Providence and Georgia Tech. Boston University has been in contact since the fall, while Penn recently began calling. North Carolina also recently called to inquire.
Forbes will play for the Riverside Church AAU program this summer. He will attend an upcoming event in Bloomington, Indiana, as well as the Peach Jam in Atlanta. Gary has received invitations to both the Nike and Adidas ABCD camps, and is not sure which one he will attend because the Adidas camp could conflict with the Peach Jam.
Forbes will take the SAT in June. He had previously scored 1000 on the PSAT. Gary carries an 81 academic average.
Expect a slew of major conference schools to hop on board for Forbes, who despite being affiliated with a major AAU program, is still one of the biggest sleepers in New York City.
