Steve Burtt Revises List

Offensive-minded combo guard Steve Burtt, Jr., from
Rice High School has drawn interest from some a couple

of strong academic institutions in the Northeast.
Burtt, a pure scorer and streaky shooter, has heard
from Brown, Colgate, Fairfield, Chicago St., Pittsburgh, and
Auburn. Chicago St. has offered and Colgate has
offered a spot in their program, as well. Burtt has
taken an unofficial visit to Fairfield, but will
otherwise wait until after the chaos of the CHSAA
playoffs passes to take more trips.
"I'm going to take some visits after the season,"
said Burtt. "Things are just too hectic right now. I
just want to worry about the (CHSAA) playoffs."
Burtt, who averages 15 points and 4.5 rebounds for
coach Maurice Hicks, is extremely offensive-minded. He
plays with a sense of urgency, and often looks to
score. Burtt seems most comfortable in an up-tempo
attack, often harrassing defenders into turnovers and
taking it in for the hoop. He is a streaky shooter who
finds the net often when hot.
Burtt is an excellent student, carrying a 3.6 GPA.
He recently boosted his SAT score to 1180, and the
results of a third test are still pending.
