School's CHSAA semifinal round win over Xaverian
two Sundays ago at Fordham University. Burtt is looking at a
bunch of academic schools and low to mid Division I
programs as his season winds down.
Brown has seen interest from Brown, Colgate,
Chicago St., Fairfield, St. Francis(NY), and Columbia.
Chicago St. and St. Francis have offered. Colgate
assistant coach Kevin Curley came out to scout Burtt
toward the tail end of the CHSAA regular season, while
Brown assistant Kevin Jaskiewicz was on hand to take
in Rice's CHSAA quarterfinal round win over Christ the
King.
Burtt will take some visits after his season ends.
He is not sure where he will visit yet, but at least
one school, Chicago St., seems to be a candidate for a
trip.
Burtt, a 6'1'' 180 lber who is averaging 13.7 points
for coach Mo Hicks's Raiders, is a live wire who plays
with a great deal of intensity at both ends of the
floor. He is an extremely offensive-minded off-guard
who also works hard at the defensive end. Burtt wreaks
havoc in the Raiders' presses and scores a good chunk
of his points in transition. Steve would be a good fit
for a college program that likes to push the tempo; he
thrives in the transition game.
Burtt is a pure scorer and streaky shooter.
Burtt, who is a native of Manhattan, is an
excellent student, carrying a 3.6 GPA. He recently
boosted his combined SAT score up to 1190.
