Aaron Cook, a 6-2, 180-pound combo guard from Celestial Prep in Philadelphia, PA, verbally committed this weekend to Hartford. Cook just finished up an official visit to the Hartford campus this past weekend. Cook is expected to sign his letter in the next 48 hours. Cook also qualified academically in the past two weeks.
Cook was a player RivalsHoops.com saw several times this season. In our last in person look, Cook opened eyes with his long-range shooting at at the Eastern Jamboree held on the campus of Seton Hall. Cook scored 20 points in the game we watched, including three three-pointers.

Cook showed nice range throughout the year on his jumper and the ability to score with people coming at him. He was one of the few guards left in the 2002 class that can score points in bunches.
Previously, he captured the MVP at the Rim Rocker tournament. The reasons were that Cook shot the ball well and directed the offense when called upon with great efficiency. Cook averaged around 20 points a game for the three matchups.
Some of the schools that took a look at Cook during the past year were Massachusetts, Stony Brook, Hartford, East Carolina, and Providence.
It's likely Cook will be a signficant impact player for Hartford in the future since he can shoot the ball very well.
