Stanback Has Officials on Tap

Fred Stanback, a stocky 6-foot-4, 215-pound shooting guard/swingman from Bishop O'Connell H.S. in Arlington, Va., has planned a pair of official visits for later this spring.
Stanback, who competed with Boo Williams' squad at the Five-Star Hoop Classic last weekend, told RivalsHoops.com that he will officially visit Richmond later this month and Penn State next month.

Stanback said that Charlotte and Richmond have offered him scholarships. Indiana and the aforementioned Penn State are also in the mix with Stanback but have yet to offer him.
In fact, Stanback will get a chance to look around IU this weekend when Boo Williams competes in the Nike Memorial Day Classic in Bloomington.
This past season at O'Connell, Stanback averaged 16 points, six rebounds and three assists per game. While he must be careful to watch his weight, Stanback proved that he is a deadly midrange shooter whose range comfortably extends beyond the three point arc. He's also got the frame to finish plays and draw contact around the basket, although he's not exactly a gazelle or big-time athlete.
A native of Lanham, Md., Stanback said that he took the SAT for the first time on May 3. RivalsHoops.com plans on catching him in action again this weekend at the MDC and at several key pit stops this summer along the recruiting trail, so keep it here for the latest info on Stanback and other top prospects in the Class of 2004.
