Stafford: How High On D-1 Level

If Nick Stafford, a 6-8, 190-pound forward from Worcester Academy in Massachusetts, plays like he did this past weekend, it's likely he will have some offers in the Spring. Stafford, considered a very good athlete with bounce, has been trying to add some more skills in his offensive game.
Stafford has certainly made significant improvement. But what Stafford will have to do is maintain his level of play throughout the season to prove to division one coaches he can drop down a jumper. Stafford is really a medium range jumpshot away from being a high division one player.

Stafford scored 11 points and had 11 rebounds in his 26 minutes of play against West Nottingham this past weekend. He seemed more confident in taking his jumper. But this will take time. What Stafford showed the most was his bounce in playing above the rim.
According to Worcester head coach Mo Cassara, Stafford has taken a visit to Central Connecticut State. In addition, he has interest in Massachusetts, LaSalle, Siena, and UNC-Wilmington. "He America East interest and some mid level interest," Cassara said.
Massachusetts, LaSalle, Memphis, Hartford, Boston University, and Providence all took in school visits last year with Stafford. These schools all came in because Stafford is an intriguing recruit. Nick is a great athlete and as we mentioned above -- a jumper away from being a good college basketball player.
