St. Johns loses last 2012 recruit

The cupboard is finally empty for St. John's. The Red Storm lost its final 2012 recruit with the decommitment of Darrick Wood.
A 6-foot-4, 170-pound shooting guard from North Bridgton (Ma.) Academy, Wood opens up his recruitment on the heels of the decommitment of St. John's other four-star recruit Ricardo Gathers.

Neither prospect has eliminated St. John's from contention, but both are now considering other options.
"I've been talking with my parents, and we want the best opportunity for me to get to the next level if that is possible," Wood told Rivals.com. "I haven't given up on St. John's, but I want to go through the recruiting process and make sure I make the right decision."
The loss of its 2012 recruiting class is an even worse blow for St. John's which lost three of its better recruits in its 2011 class.
Woods, who is the No. 104-ranked prospect in the Rivals150, has no type of formulated school list.
"I hope the schools that were recruiting me before will jump back on board," he said. "I'm just jumping out in the water and see what happens with other schools."
