St. Clair Has Top 5

Monty St. Clair, a skilled 6-8, 222 pound power forward from Roger Bacon H.S. in Cincinnati, Ohio, is considering five colleges this fall.
Rivalshoops.com caught up with St. Clair on Monday night, and he explained the situation in detail.

Right now, St. Clair has scholarship offers from Miami (OH), UNC-Wilmington and Kent State. He visited Miami officially this past weekend from Sept. 6-8, and will be at Kent this weekend from Sept. 14-15. He may visit Wilmington later this month.
The other two colleges on his list are Stanford and Indiana. And while neither has offered, both have expressed sincere interest in the Buckeye State big man.
In fact, Stanford Head Coach Mike Montgomery paid an in-school visit to Roger Bacon on Monday, Sept. 9. Indiana Head Coach Mike Davis is also expected to pay a visit to Cincy this month to evaluate St. Clair.
"I don't think Indiana was really serious until one of their assistants saw me play at the AAU Nationals, and Coach Davis didn't get a chance to see me play there," St. Clair said. "So he still needs to see me, but they have been a lot more serious after the month of July."
As for Stanford, they typically don't offer prospective student-athletes until they gain admission to the school. St. Clair is still in the process of filling out his application to the PAC 10 program.
"I am really interested in them, and I think they are really interested in me," St. Clair said. "Coach Montgomery came out and we talked for a while, and right now, the main thing is getting my application approved. They are trying to bring in two big guys, and they've said that I am one of their top two."
St. Clair plans on hosting Kent State in his home on the 12th and Wilmington on the 15th. He also expects Indiana to pay an in-home or in-school visit sometime this month, and is not sure if there's a need for Miami to come in the home since there is already a very close bond between him and the Red Hawk staff/program.
"I think my list of five is pretty solid right now," St. Clair said. "But you never know, if somebody comes along with a really good situation, then things could happen, but right now I am pretty firm on those five."
St. Clair was a consistent force in the paint this past spring and summer for Mike Price's Cincinnati AAU program. A skilled big man who can step out and face the basket, St. Clair is also active underneath the tin and has good touch on his shot. He's just not an above the rim athlete.
