Spring May Bring More Focus

With the biggest game of the year looming on the horizon, Blair Academy Head Coach Joe Mantegna freely admits that the recruiting processes of 6-7 swingman Luol Deng and 6-10 forward Charlie Villanueva are on hold probably until the spring.
Blair will face St. Benedict's on Saturday for the New Jersey Prep title. As the season has progressed, a who's who of college coaches have made the trek to New Jersey to catch Blair and its two talented juniors.

"I am going to sit down with both Luol and Charlie sometime after the season and talk about the recruiting," Mantegna told the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com. "But right now, we are focused on the season and our next game on Saturday."
Of course, the timetable for juniors has been sped up this winter because they are now permitted to take official visits under NCAA rules.
Mantegna said that no visits have been planned for either Deng or Villanueva. However, that information will be discussed when the two players sit down with the coach later this year to discuss their futures.
You can count on IR to keep you posted.
