Southern schedules press conference

There was a time when Joshua Southern had planned to take his time with the recruiting process, which included taking some official visits in the fall. However, the 6-foot-9, 240-pound power forward from Saginaw (MI) High School has decided to put an end to his recruitment much earlier than expected. Southern, the No. 125 ranked player in the class of 2007, has scheduled a press conference for Tuesday at 12:00 EST.
"Joshua has a press conference planned for Tuesday afternoon at 12:00 EST," said Saginaw head coach Lou Dawkins. "He is going to select from Kentucky, Tennessee, Boston College, Wake Forest and Michigan State. Those are the five schools Joshua is still considering.

"Joshua has taken unofficial visits to Kentucky, Boston College and Michigan State," he added. "There was a time when he had decided to take his time and make some visits, but Joshua called me about a week ago and told me that he was ready to decide."
Southern, a three-star prospect has been out of town for the last week, so reaching the talented power forward has been a difficult process. However, now that he is back in town, Southern is ready to go public with his decision.
"Joshua was in Houston, Texas, last week for a big man camp put on by Jon Lucas," said Dawkins. "He just got back last night and is ready to make his announcement. I do know that he has already made his decision, so Joshua plans to let everybody know about that on Tuesday.
"I think that Joshua decided to make a decision because he knew that it would take a lot of pressure off him," he added. "Now he will be able to focus on his senior year and there won't be any distractions during the season."
Joshua Southern Audible: "I'm just practicing being more dominant in the post, and running the floor even better. I think my strength is running the floor, and my 15-foot jump shot. And also rebounding the ball." - Joshua Southern
