Southern a hot commodity

Joshua Southern, the No. 92 ranked player in the class of 2007, is eventually going make a difficult decision when it comes to his recruitment. The 6-foot-9, 240-pound power forward from Saginaw (MI) High School has double-digit scholarship offers on the table, and a number of new schools involved in his recruitment.
"Ohio State, Wisconsin and Bradley are probably the newest schools that have started to recruit me hard," said Southern. All of those schools have offered scholarships. Miami-FL, Michigan, Boston College and Tennessee are the most interested schools right now.

"I was supposed to take an unofficial visit to Boston College last week, but I had a problem with my flight. I am in the process of rescheduling that visit right now. I am also going to take a visit to Miami-FL later on in the month."
Overall, Southern, a four-star prospect has offers from Boston College, DePaul, Kentucky, Miami-FL, Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Michigan, Ohio State, Vanderbilt and Wisconsin.
Additionally, the No. 22 ranked power forward in the class is also hearing from Connecticut, Indiana, and UCLA. Southern is planning to take all five official visits in the fall.
"I will use all five official visits," said Southern. I know that for sure. Miami-FL, Tennessee and Boston College are three schools that I am planning to visit for sure. I don't know about the final two visits just yet.
"What I might do is take visits to Miami-FL, Tennessee and Boston College and then make a decision about my final two visits," he added. "If I take unofficial visits to one or more of the three schools, I might not need to officially visit them again. But the plan right now is to officially visit Miami-FL, Tennessee and Boston College."
