South Carolina lands fourth recruit

The pieces are falling into place for South Carolina's 2010 recruiting class. On Monday the Gamecocks landed their fourth commitment in the class with a verbal pledge by three-star prospect Brian Richardson.
Richardson, a 6-foot-4, 165-pound shooting guard from Wilson (N.C.) Greenfield High School, followed up his weekend visit with a commitment.

"Brian is very excited, said Greenfield head coach Rob Salter. "South Carolina has been recruiting him for a long, long time. Brian's developed a great relationship with Coach Horn and the staff."
A naturally scorer, Richardson has impressed the South Carolina staff with both his versatility and ability to score points.
"Brian is a versatile player who can play three positions and just shoots so well," said Salter. "That's what South Carolina likes about him so much. He can score a variety of ways and that's something you just can't teach."
Richardson, who was also considering Alabama, Auburn and UNC-Wilmington, averaged 22 points per game as a junior.
