SoCal SF Wins Appeal

Nick Young will return to Cleveland High School in Reseda, Calif. to play his senior year. The 6-foot-6 small forward won his appeal with the Los Angeles City Section (CIF) and was granted a fifth year of high school eligibility.
“I was shocked at first," said Young when asked about his CIF ordeal and the recent decision. "I’m glad I got another chance. I’m happy.”

When Rivals.com spoke to Nick this past summer, he was planning to attend prep school after losing an appeal with the CIF regarding his eligibility. In the meantime, he had a spectacular summer performance which included being selected to the All-Tournament Team at the Big Time Tournament in Las Vegas.
As expected, Young’s recruiting heated up after his performance during the July evaluation period and when USC offered him a scholarship in late July, he readily accepted. Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, Pepperdine, and DePaul were also interested.
Young is a versatile athlete with good ball skills to go along with size on the wing. He averaged 26 points and 10 rebounds per game his junior season.
Nick says he plans to sign with USC during the early signing period in November.
