SMU adds Dia to recruiting class

Chalk one up for Conference USA in the recruiting wars. 6-foot-9, 225-pound power forward Papa Dia of South Kent Prep opted for SMU over schools from the Big East and the Big 12.
"Papa felt like SMU gave him the best chance at being an impact player early in his career," said South Kent Prep head coach Raphael Chillious. "I think he is getting tired of being a third or fourth option for us. Also, his father is a professor back in Senegal, and his parents liked the academic situation at SMU."

Dia visited SMU, Oklahoma and Louisville during the month of October before settling on the Mustangs.
He joins a solid recruiting class for Coach matt Doherty of three-star prospects Ryan Harp and Alex Malone and two-star prospect William Eddie.
