Smith Talks About J.R. Fit

Oak Hill Academy head coach Steve Smith said he was excited to have J.R. Reynolds, the combo guard from Roanoke (VA) Catholic High School, on his squad for this winter's tough schedule.
"J.R. is going to play the two guard for us," Smith said. "I see him playing in the backcourt with Marcus Williams (from Los Angeles). I think that will be a great backcourt for us."

Reynolds can do a lot of different things on the court, according to Smith. "He can create his shot by himself," Smith said. "He is also very strong. He is going to be a good defender too."
Last year, Reynolds handled the point with confidence. He also showed that he can take a defender to the basket and/or stop for a mid-range jumper, hit the three, either on a catch-and-shoot situation or off the dribble, and has excellent vision with the ability to hit an open teammate.
Reynolds, who has already verbally committed to Pete Gillen's Virginia Cavaliers, plays with Boo Williams and will participate in the Nike Inviational Camp this July in Indianapolis. "I have seen J.R. play before," Smith said. "He is a great player. It's going to be fun to coach him and watch how he plays in the backcourt with Marcus Williams."
