Jerry Smith, the No. 27 ranked player in the class of 2006, recently returned from his unoffical visit to Kansas. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound point guard from East High School in Wauwatosa, Wis., will spend the next four weeks on the road making unofficial visits to other schools.

“The visit to Kansas was extremely nice,” Mr. Smith said. “Jerry and I had a nice meeting with Coach (Bill) Self and tried to become more familiar with what the University of Kansas has to offer. We also wanted to get a feel for the location of the school, the distance from home and gather some information about the graduation rates at Kansas.”
Now that Smith has returned from his visit to Kansas, the No. 4 ranked point guard in the class is ready to take a closer look at some other schools. He has already been to Wisconsin, Iowa and Marquette for unofficial visits. Throughout the next four weeks, Smith will tour the campuses of Purdue, Wake Forest, Michigan State and Texas A&M.
“We will unofficially visit Purdue, Wake Forest, Michigan State and Texas A&M during the next four weeks,” Mr. Smith said. “Jerry has already visited Wisconsin, Iowa and Marquette. We do plan to take our time with the recruiting process, but we also want to take advantage of these unofficial visits. We are definitely looking forward to visiting some very nice schools.
“Once we get a good feeling for all of the schools Jerry is interested in, we will come up with a definite list of schools that my son is interested in,” he added. “My son is really wide open right now, but I would hope to have a set list of schools by spring. After we have put together a list, we can start to discuss some of the schools that Jerry would like to officially visit in the fall.”
