Smith Reshuffles List

One of the elite prospects in the Class of 2004, J.R. Smith of St. Benedict's Prep in Newark, N.J., has shuffled his list.
Smith told RivalsHoops.com that he has been offered scholarships by N.C. State, UConn, Miami, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Villanova and Cincinnati. "North Carolina hasn't offered," Smith said.

Louisville, which earlier this year became one of the front runners for Smith's services, bowed out after securing a commitment from JUCO small forward Donta Smith.
Smith has the ability to drop down long-range jumpers and also smack you in transition with thumping dunks. He is one of the most exciting players in the 2004 class and should be able to make a major impact right away in college on the offensive side.
Smith will play this summer for Jim Salmon's Playaz program out of New Jersey. J.R. will first compete at the ABCD camp in Teaneck, New Jersey in early July. Smith then will head down to the Jersey Shore to play in the Three Stripes (Neptune, New Jersey) and then head out to Las Vegas for the Big Time tournament.
J.R. is also a pretty good football player. But he seems to have settled in on at least playing basketball. He could always play both sports since he is skilled enough to perform well in football and basketball.
