Smith Making Strides Off The Court

One of the big questions this winter has been where is Tyler Smith, the talented point guard who signed with DePaul last Fall? Smith did not make the trip to New York last week to play Our Savior. But it appears that Tyler is doing just fine, according to Lutheran head coach Darryl Schofield.
Smith has decided not to play for Lutheran and instead concentrate on pushing his grades up to qualify academically. This is a wise move by Smith, who also spends some time back at his home in Baltimore on weekends. It's just a short bus ride home from Philadelphia to Baltimore so it works out well for Smith.
Smith did play some minutes earlier this year. Smith scored four points and dished out four assists in LCA's 68-63 loss to Notre Dame Prep of Massachusetts at the War At the Shore in late November. Since then, Smith has been concentrating only on his studies.
