Future Big 12 member TCU has lured Texas native Clyde Smith back home.
Smith, who now attends Lakeville (Conn.) Hotchkiss School, committed to TCU following his official visit this past weekend.
"Clyde's concern was always more about fit than time frame," said Hotchkiss School head coach Fred Benjamin. "He was very patient in his approach and also explored the Ivy League rout as well. TCU just resonated with him from the beginning of the fall period. The idea of going back to his home state and the quality of education at TCU were the perfect fit for him."
Smith, a 6-foot-2 shooting guard, also unofficially visited Notre Dame and Iowa recently.
