Smith favoring the Wolfpack

A number of schools would love to get Tracy Smith on their campus for an official visit. The only problem is that Smith, a 6-foot-7, 225-pound forward from Mt. Zion High School in Durham, N.C., hasn't taken one of the college prep tests.
"I want to take some visits, so I can reach a decision," said Smith. "The problem is that I haven't taken one of the tests yet. I don't take it till October 14, but I'm still hoping to take some unofficial visits. I'm trying to work out one for NC State and one for LSU."

Smith did recently take an unofficial visit to Charlotte, but he does not have that much interest in the 49ers.
"NC State is still on top, and then there is Oklahoma State," he said. "After them, USC, LSU and then Kentucky."
Smith said the Wildcats just recently began calling him, but they have not yet offered a scholarship like his other top schools have.
Although Smith finds his recruiting situation frustrating and a little confusing, he is very confident in the progress he is making with his game.
"I'm shooting the ball better and handling the ball better," he said. "I'm working hard to make myself a legitimate combo forward."
Tracy Smith scouting report:
After losing approximately 60-pounds between his junior and senior season, Smith is now quick to the basket and quick off the floor. He specializes in facing up post defenders and taking them off the dribble, especially to his left. Primarily a scorer with the ball and has room to improve his defensive play.
