On the court as a coach and in the living room as a recruiter, Shaka Smart continues to prove he is a rising star in college basketball. Monday night, Smart landed the most significant recruit of his tenure at Virginia Commonwealth.

A day after his official visit to Richmond, the nation's No. 39 player, Terry Larrier. committed to play at VCU.
The 6-foot-8 small forward from New York who attends Malvern (Pa.) Phelps School came on in a major way over the spring and summer.
Blessed with terrific size for the wing and a smooth jump shot, Larrier is dangerous because of his ability to stretch defenses and to finish around the rim. That size allows him to play as a highly skilled four man if a team wants to go small.
There have been times when Larrier wasn't consistent, but he's come a long way in that department and continues to build upon his game.
Bottom line, Larrier is a significant recruiting win for Smart and his staff as he continues to make his mark on the college basketball world. Larrier has the tools to play at any level and is part of a very good recruiting class for the A-10 Rams.
A four-star prospect, Larrier joins fellow Rivals150 member Justin Tillman -- a three star combo forward -- and three-star point guard Jonathan Williams.
