Sleeper Juco big man to the SEC

Renard Robinson, a 6-foot-10, 260-pound center who prepped at Hume Fogg High School in Nashville, Tenn., is now attending Fullerton (Calif.) Junior College. According to Hume Fogg head coach Kelly Harned, Robinson will only be there for one year before he plays in the SEC.
“Renard has verbally committed to South Carolina and is supposed to sign during the early signing period,” said Coach Harned. “I have had calls from Marquette, Miami, and most recently Georgia about him, but he is verbally committed to South Carolina. I assume he is going to finish the year out at Fullerton and then head to South Carolina.”

Robinson, who is still 17 years old, is a big man with decent athleticism, good hands and a huge upside.
“He is a big kid, who is a project,” said Harned. “He broke his leg as a sophomore and missed the whole year, so he has only really played two years of high school basketball. He has good hands, and his footwork is not bad. He has a lot of upside and is going to blossom.”
Averaging 10 points, 7 rebounds and 6 blocks per game, Robinson played his best ball towards the end of the year recording several double/doubles during that stretch according to Coach Harned.
