Slater Has SEC Offer

Dietric Slater, an athletic 6-3, 190-pound wing guard from Wayne County High School in Waynesboro, Mississippi, caught the eye of RivalsHoops.com at the Adidas ABCD camp.

The lefty Slater is capable of acrobatic finishes with his body control and athleticism. He is capable of pitching in on the glass with his strength and leaping ability. Slater is an able slasher who is an adequate ball handler. He is good in transition, and can stroke the three. Slater has a solid frame that should yield more muscle.

Slater's top suitors include Alabama and Mississippi State. Alabama has offered. Slater does not plan on taking any visits anytime soon.

Slater, who averaged 20 points and nine rebounds this past high school season, plays with the Mississippi-based Rise and Shine AAU team. He will compete in the 17 and under Nationals in Orlando with the Alabama Challenge Team.

Slater carries a 2.9 GPA. He will take the ACT in October.
